The chimelu-udu is the smallest of our Udu drums. This small drum, measuring 5" in diameter, performs brilliantly and is designed to accommodate young children and grown-ups alike. CHIMELU - a name in the Igbo language which means - What God has created - and is given to female babies at birth. The Chimelu-udu brings kids face to face with an authentic African percussion and offers them the opportunity to explore hand drumming on a true drum head while palm playing the high and the low tones on the side of the drum.
Chimelu-udu can be used as a stand alone drum or used as an accompaniment. It can also be externally or internally miked for performances. Doughnut stand is included (material may vary).
