Learn the art of making authentic clay drums from West Africa. Hand built and slip casted drums, firing and finishing designs for Udu and Djembe drums.

...On Day 1 (Aug 21)
Slab building, hand forming and clay handling. Use of clay slip as glue, trim slip casted Udu drum. Hand build small Djembe drum, mini Djembe. Surface clean up and adding decorative features as deisred.

...On Day 2 (Aug. 28)
Items are dried and fired by now. Discussion about glazes, surface design symbols (handouts included) and drum heads installed. Slide and video presentation. Q&A and live performance!
