Similar to lamellophones found among a number of northern Ghanaian groups, as well as the Asante peoples of south central Ghana, but unique by its design, a shoulder strap on this new instrument allows the musician to pluck the thumb keys while at the same time produce multiple drumming sounds from slaps to mid and deep tones (by striking the back of the instrument) and using many hand drumming techniques.
